PI-RADS plus PSA density boosts prostate cancer diagnosis over MRI alone
Frontiers in oncology3w ago
Combining MRI PI-RADS score with PSA density improved prostate cancer detection vs either alone in 187 patients. PI-RADS OR 4.059 (95% CI 2.570-6.412) & log(PSAD) OR 2.743 (1.553-4.845); combined model AUC higher. Retrospective.
- Combined PI-RADS and PSAD model had higher AUC than either alone (DeLong test).
- PI-RADS score (OR 4.059, 95% CI 2.570-6.412) and log(PSAD) (OR 2.743, 95% CI 1.553-4.845) were independent predictors after adjustment.
- Retrospective single-center design with 187 patients limits generalizability.
