Prospective Registry Shows High Success and Safety with Fibered Detachable Coils in Peripheral Embolization
Journal of vascular and interventional radiology : JVIR2d ago
In a 130-patient real-world registry, fibered detachable coils achieved 97.8% technical success (95% CI 96.28–98.77) and 97.0% clinical success (93.11–99.01) for peripheral embolization. Twelve-month vessel occlusion was 100%, with zero device-related adverse events.
- Twelve-month target vessel occlusion rate was 100%, and no cases of non-target embolization, recanalization, coil fracture, or device fracture occurred.
- In the pelvic venous disorder subgroup, pain scores on the Visual Analog Scale improved, and Patient Global Impressions Scale for Change scores were better at 12 months vs. 30 days.
- This multicenter observational registry reflects real-world device performance across various peripheral embolization indications.
