PSMA-PET/CT Outperforms mpMRI in Detecting Prostate Cancer in PI-RADS 3-4 Lesions
Reporting systems & Fleischner (PubMed)Jun 9
In men with PI-RADS 3-4 lesions, [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT had higher sensitivity (95.5% vs 73.1%) & accuracy (83% vs 68%) than mpMRI for prostate cancer detection, with better pathology agreement (κ=0.66 vs 0.36). Retrospective, single-center.
- Retrospective study of 135 patients with PI-RADS 3-4 lesions who underwent [18F]PSMA-1007 PET/CT and mpMRI.
- In PI-RADS 4, a model combining prostate volume with PET parameters improved accuracy compared to volume alone (P<0.01) but not over PET alone.
- Single-center, retrospective design; no external validation.
