Deterministic Tract Planning Concordant with Operator Entry Sites for CT-Guided Lung Biopsy
Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology (JVIR)1w ago
Deterministic tract planning for CT-guided lung biopsy produced skin entry points within a median of 15.2mm of operator-chosen sites (κ=0.53, 95%CI 0.43-0.63) in a retrospective 199-patient study. Supports use for planning review and training.
- Single-center retrospective study of 199 consecutive CT-guided lung biopsies (mean age 66.6 years, 20.6% female).
- Any adverse event occurred in 62.8% of procedures; 12.6% were clinically relevant. Diagnostic yield was 84.9%.
- Limitations include retrospective design, lack of external validation, and use of fixed literature-derived coefficients for procedural burden rather than patient-specific prediction.
