How Long Does a DWI Sequence Really Take?
MRI Questions (Elster)Oct 17
Diffusion-weighted imaging acquisition time depends primarily on TR, the number of signal averages, and the number of b-value directions. A conventional single-shot EPI DWI of the brain can be acquired in less than one minute. Longer scan times yield higher signal-to-noise ratio.
- Educational summary explains that DWI acquisition time = TR × number of excitations × number of diffusion directions.
