PSA density plus PI-RADS significantly improves detection of clinically significant prostate cancer
Reporting systems & Fleischner (PubMed)1w ago
Combining PSA density with PI-RADS improved the AUC for detecting clinically significant prostate cancer from 0.84 to 0.89 (p<0.001) in a retrospective study of 100 biopsies.
- Retrospective diagnostic accuracy study of 100 biopsy records (86 unique patients) using mpMRI with PI-RADS v2 and TRUS-guided biopsy.
- For equivocal PI-RADS 3 lesions, the optimal PSAD threshold (0.163 ng/mL/mL) yielded 100% sensitivity and 76% specificity.
- Single-center, retrospective, small sample, no external validation; PSAD cutoffs were derived post hoc.
