T1 Subtraction Maps Increase Measured Enhancing Volumes in Mild Pediatric Brain Tumors, with Substantial Changes in One-Third
American Journal of Neuroradiology (AJNR)5d ago
Adding T1 subtraction maps increased consensus-based enhancing component volumes in all 20 treatment-naïve mild pediatric brain tumors (median +41.9%, p<0.001); 35% of cases had a substantial >100% volume increase. Small retrospective study without pathologic gold standard.
- Retrospective consensus-read of 20 treatment-naïve mild enhancing pediatric brain tumors from the CBTN dataset.
- Substantial volume change (>100%) occurred in 7 of 20 cases (35%); median volume rose from 3917 to 9222 mm³.
- Limitations: small sample, single consensus reading, and lack of pathologic reference standard for true enhancement.
